WordPress maintenance so the site never becomes a problem
Updates tested on a staging copy before they touch the live site, backups that have actually been restored, uptime and security monitoring, and a real person to email when something looks wrong.
-
Updates tested first On a staging copy, so an update never takes the site down at 9am on a Monday.
-
Backups that restore Off site, verified, and tested. An untested backup is not a backup.
-
A person, not a dashboard You email someone who knows your site, not a ticket queue.

What happens without maintenance
None of this is dramatic until the day it is.
What maintenance includes
The upkeep that keeps a site fast, safe and boring, which is what a business website should be.
Core, plugin and theme updates
Applied on a staging copy, checked, then pushed live, with a rollback if anything changes.
Backups
Daily off site backups, retained, and restored on a test schedule so you know they work.
Uptime and performance monitoring
Alerts when the site goes down or slows, usually before you notice.
Security monitoring
Malware scanning, hardening, and patching of known vulnerabilities.
Speed upkeep
Caching, image handling and database cleanup, so the site does not drift slower each quarter.
Support hours
A block of hours each month for small changes, so you are not quoting every tweak.
Not sure what shape your site is in?
Send the URL. We will tell you what is outdated, what is risky and what upkeep it actually needs.
How maintenance runs
A rhythm, not an emergency response.

Hafsa handles maintenance for the sites we build and for sites we inherit. Because she also builds custom plugins, a broken update is usually diagnosed and fixed rather than reported and escalated.
Maintenance is cheap. Recovery is not.

What maintenance costs
Priced by what the site is and how much support you want each month.
What you can count on
Month to month, cancel any time, and you keep everything: the site, the backups, the hosting and every account. We will also tell you plainly if your site does not need a plan.

What maintenance is really protecting against
Three things: an update that breaks the site, a compromise through a known vulnerability, and a backup that turns out not to work when you finally need it. None of them are likely in any given week, which is exactly why they get ignored, and all three are expensive when they happen.
Why updates go to staging first
WordPress updates are usually safe. The exceptions are plugin updates that conflict with a theme or with each other, and those exceptions take sites down. Applying updates to a staging copy, loading the key pages, checking the forms and the checkout, then pushing live takes an extra twenty minutes and removes almost all of the risk.
Backups that have been restored
Most sites have a backup. Far fewer have a backup that anyone has tried to restore. Partial database dumps, missing uploads and corrupted archives are all common, and you find out on the worst possible day. We restore backups on a schedule so the process is known to work before it matters.
Security is mostly patching
Very few WordPress compromises involve anything clever. Almost all of them use a published vulnerability in an outdated plugin, weeks or months after a fix was released. Keeping things current, removing what is unused and hardening the obvious entry points prevents the overwhelming majority of it. If a site has already been compromised, cleanup comes first: that is security and malware removal.
Speed drifts if nobody watches
Sites get slower over time. Plugins accumulate, images get uploaded at full size, the database fills with revisions and expired transients. A quarterly pass on caching, images and the database keeps Core Web Vitals in passing range instead of letting the site drift until it needs a rescue project.
If the site earns you money, yes. If it is a small brochure site you could rebuild in a day, an honest answer is that backups and updates may be enough on their own, and we will say so.
That is why updates go to a staging copy first. If something changes, we roll back, fix the conflict, then apply it properly.
Daily, off site, retained. More importantly they are restored on a test schedule, because an untested backup is just a file.
No. You keep your own hosting and your own accounts. We work in your environment, which means nothing is held hostage if you leave.
Content edits, small layout changes, plugin configuration, minor fixes. Anything larger gets quoted before we start it.
Yes, but the cleanup comes first and is quoted separately. See security and malware cleanup, then a maintenance plan keeps it from happening again.
