HVAC Company Google Ads: Booked Work at $65 per Conversion
Local Google Ads tightened to service intent
$65 CPAAd spend
The challenge
- Running Google Ads for a local HVAC company is easy. Making the spend produce booked jobs is not.
- The account showed the usual pattern: expensive clicks from people researching rather than buying, a search terms report full of unfiltered traffic, and no clear picture of which spend produced a job.
What we did
- Targeting was tightened to the real service radius instead of a wide metro, so budget stopped paying for clicks the company could not serve.
- Keywords were built around service intent (repair, AC service, furnace and installation searches) instead of broad HVAC terms that attract researchers.
- The search terms report was reviewed continuously with negatives added as waste appeared, budget shifted toward converting terms and times, and conversion tracking made those calls data driven.
The outcome
$1,730 in ad spend produced 774 clicks and 26.6 conversions at $65.11 per conversion, with an average cost per click of $2.24.
Project notes
What it means for an HVAC business. At $65 per conversion the maths only has to work once. A single repair job usually covers several conversions, and one installation or system replacement covers the whole month of spend. That is the number to judge an HVAC account on, not clicks or impressions.
